It was a cold day, but there was not rain atleast! And still there was a great turn out for our GC Fun Night at Stewart Park. A mean game of touch football ended in 13 to 1 (Kyle's team against Pastor Matthew's team....we won't say which one got slaughtered!). Had some good old bbq'd hot dogs and some great fellowship. If you missed it, you missed out, but don't fret, next month we have planned a GUYS VS GIRLS Capture the Flag game that will be a blast!!! Stay tuned!

GC American Idol a success!

If you missed our GC American Idol Season Finale, than you really missed out. The entire month of March we had some great....and not so great auditions from our very own GC'ers. And as the month went on, we got to see who was rising to the top as a "star"! That led us to our April 4 season finale with our two finalists, Amanda P. and Gabe B. Both were outstanding contestants, but in the end, Gabe took the stage and the title as our GC American Idol!!!

Thanks to all who made this such a fun night. You are all so wonderful.

Next big thing coming is Generational Leadership. A group of young adults who have been in a year long discipleship program are coming to share testimonies and some song and dance. It will be another unforgettable night at GC. So don't miss Wednesday, April 18 at 7pm at GVCA.

Wow! If you missed it, than you REALLY missed it. The Pie Auction was record breaking this year, in both attendance and the amount raised! This year we raised $7000!!!! Thank you God! It was not only successful in that sense, but our young people who shared their testimonies did a FANTASTIC job. Thank you to everyone who helped make this evening great. Hey guys, the Pie Auction is just around the corner! Sunday night, November 19 at 6pm we will be having this great and super fun event that we put on every year.

Never been at to a Pie Auction? Then you are missing out! We will start the evening with some GC worship and testimonies and then end it with the auction where the highest bidder gets the homemade pies and cakes! It is a blast.

So, we need you to come and serve and bring your parents. This is a great chance for them to see what goes on every week with you at Gen Church!

Wednesday, November 1 will be our Toga Night at GC! This is going to be an unforgettable night that you won't want to miss AND you will want to bring your friends to as well!

The night begins at 5:30pm with the snacks and hanging out in the GC Lounge, then continues at 7pm with our special service. Our wild and crazy greek, Dean Niforatos will be with us.

Come dressed in your best greek attire, and you might win a digital camera.

GC LADIES DAY TRIP

Are you a girl? Are you in Jr. High, Sr. High or a Young Adult? If you can answer yes to both of those, than you can go this Saturday, October 21st to the GC Girls Movie Outing. We are taking the vans and leaving the church at 11am on a trip up to Springfield/Eugene for some lunch, shopping, and then a movie! We will be seeing "One Night With The King", a story about Queen Esther. We will be returning back to the church around 8:30pm.

If you want to go, contact Sabrina Schlesinger by Wednesday, Octboer 18 at her office at 541.673.1293 ext.13. You must reserve your place in the van.

Cost is $20 which covers your movie ticket and your lunch. Any extra spending money is up to you! If you are under 18, we need to get a parent/release form, which you can get at the lobby table on GC nights!

Generation Church is starting a discipleship class for Jr. High, Sr. High, and College Age students. This is not for the weak at heart or for those who do not want to be challenged and to grow. This if for those who are serious about becoming world changers, those who want to be disciples of Christ and disciple others. If you are interested in finding out how you can be a part of GC FIRESTARTERS, see Pastor Matthew or Sabrina.

Our annual county-wide youth rally is back following See You At The Pole! This year is going to be like any other. We will be meeting up with dozens of other youth groups and hundreds of other youth in our community to worship the Lord and receive a community challenge! Hey there everyone! Our GC Philippines team is about to depart for their two week long missions trip to Davao City, Philippines! We leave after Gen Church this Wednesday and will be back Thursday, September 7th. Be praying for us while we are gone. The team is Pastor Matthew and Sabrina, Leah Schlesinger, Rachelle Long, Rachel Davis, Amy Harris, Ernie & Gerret Roberts and Kelly LaFoutnain.

But don't think that you can skip GC while we are gone. We have set you up while we are gone. One week you will have the dynamic duo, Kyle and Brandee Winter and the other week you will get Brian Bandelman! You are going to be well taken care of and have a great time at GC while we are gone. Nothin' Like a BBQ in August!

So, if you haven't heard yet (which some of you who have think GC is NOT happening in the summer), we are having a free BBQ every Wednesday for the entire month of August! Well, it's free if you are 17 and under, but on ly $2 if you are 18 and older! So come and eat some really great hamburgers and enjoy some good old fashioned fellowship before GC starts on Wednesday's! Bring a friend and get them fed and then come on into GC. Camps are over!!! And what fun they were. The only problem is I somehow only took pictures of Jr. High Camp (and not that many) and forgot to bring my camera out for Sr. High AND our Young Adults Retreat. So, although wonderful memories were made at both, unless I get some pictures from some others, this is all our GC Blog will see of our summer camps. So sad... :(. Anyways, we are back and excited to get back into the swing of things. Thanks to all of you that were counselors, boat/ski do drivers, cooks, van drivers, and anyone else that helped out so generoulsy at all of our camps to make them a success! We hope you all enjoyed them as much as Pastor Matthew and I did. Now....onto August!!! Woo hooo!!!

A few weekends ago, our GC staff took a trip to Washington for a retreat to get inspired, refreshed, ministered to, and for greater unity and bonding amongst our staff! We had a great time. Let me (Sabrina) take a moment and share with you the great staff that you at GC have at your fingertips every Wednesday and every other day of the week!

Besides Matthew and myself, we have rallied around some incredible young adults and adults who passionately love God and passionately love you! They are servants more than anything. They do behind-the-scenes things that you will never know of. They pray for you, clean up after you, prepare rides for you, have small groups for you, and so many more things, and they do it ALL for NO PAY!!! They deserve a lot of respect.

I have almost everyone pictured below who is on our staff. Not pictured is Leah, our Jr. High Small Group leader. She can love people like no one I have ever seen. If you ever need a great hug, a comforting shoulder to cry on, someone to hang out with and have a good laugh, or someone to get down and boogy with, she is your lady! We love you Leah!

They have had to be "the enforcers" for some of you, but if that is all you know them as, then you are selling yourself short. These two have such a heart to serve God and the church and you at GC. I wanted to give a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who served at the Valentines Dinner this year. It was a great success and we couldn't have done it without all the help. From our babysitters, valet parkers, coat checkers, water boys/girls to waiters! You guys were AWESOME!!! I especially want to recognize a few folks who went above-and-beyond the call of duty for this event. First and formost would be our newest GC Staff members, Shaun and Summer Ryan.
